Mutations in Drosophila neuralized (Dneur) result in a variety of developmental defects that closely resemble those of Notch mutants and other Notch pathway mutants. However, mice with disrupted neur1 do not show any aberrant cell fate specifications in neurogenesis and somitogenesis.
