In recent years, there has been renewed interest in hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotypes. Our previous data have shown the importance of in-frame deletions in the preS region in cases of coexisting hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and anti-hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb).
