The platelet receptor for von Willebrand factor (VWF), glycoprotein (GP) Ib-IX, mediates platelet adhesion and activation. The cytoplasmic domains of the GPIb alpha and beta subunits contain binding sites for the phosphorylation-dependent signaling molecule, 14-3-3zeta.
