We report here the results of the GENIHUSS study (GENetic Investigation of Hypertension Undertaken in Sydney Sibships)-a genome-wide scan to identify loci linked to essential hypertension (HT). Subjects were Anglo-Celtic Australian sibpairs resident in or near Sydney, Australia, with onset of HT before age 60 years (mean, 44 +/- 13 SD years).
