Inflammation is profoundly involved in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other neurodegenerative diseases. Chemokine, CXC motif, ligand 1 (CXCL1; or GRO1) is an inflammatory cytokine and appears to be implicated in the pathogenesis of AD.
