Altered total nuclear DNA content is frequent in colorectal carcinomas, but the mechanisms producing aneuploidy are unknown. Therefore, DNA ploidy by flow cytometry was correlated with molecular genetic alterations and tumor characteristics in 50 colorectal carcinomas.
