BRUCE is a highly conserved 528-kDa peripheral membrane protein of the trans-Golgi network. Owing to the presence of an N-terminal single baculovirus inhibitor repeat, BRUCE functions as an inhibitor of apoptosis protein and blocks apoptosis when overexpressed.
