Cytochrome b(5) (cyt b(5)) is a 15-kDa amphipathic protein with a cytosolic amino-terminal catalytic heme domain, which is anchored to the microsomal membrane by a hydrophobic transmembrane alpha-helix at its carboxyl terminus.
