The chronic myeloproliferative disorders (MPD), polycythemia vera (PV), chronic idiopathic myelofibrosis (IMF), essential thrombocytosis (ET), and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), are thought to be clonal disorders arising in a multipotent hematopoietic progenitor cell.
