Lupus nephritis presents two polar histological patterns, diffuse proliferative glomerulonephritis (DPGN) and membranous glomerulonephritis (MGN). In the kidney tissue of DPGN, numerous mononuclear cells were seen in the interstitium and glomeruli; on the other hand in MGN, infiltrating cells were less frequent.
