Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) involving chromosome 16q23.4 occurs frequently in breast tumors, which suggests that this region may contain a tumor suppressor gene. Since ZFP276 is located in this region, we have therefore cloned and performed mutation analysis of its coding region in 70 breast tumors.
