We have used a spin column assay to study the detergent-solubilized levamisole receptor, a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. The receptor can be successfully solubilized in detergent solutions of Triton X-100, Lubrol PX, or sodium cholate.
