We report the antiretroviral activity of stavudine-5'-(p-bromophenyl methoxyalaninyl phosphate) (stampidine [STAMP]), a novel aryl phosphate derivative of stavudine, against primary clinical human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) isolates.
