We screened DNAs from 48 Japanese individuals for single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in nine genes encoding components of ATP-binding cassette subfamily B (ABCB/MDR/TAP) by directly sequencing the entire applicable genomic regions except for repetitive elements.
