We screened DNAs from 48 Japanese individuals for single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in eight cytochrome p450 ( CYP) genes, nine esterase genes, and two other genes by directly sequencing the relevant genomic regions in their entirety except for repetitive elements.
