BACKGROUND: Homozygous mutant mice expressing a truncated form of myosin-binding protein C (MyBP-C(t/t)) develop severe dilated cardiomyopathy, whereas the heterozygous mutation (MyBP-C(t/+)) causes mild hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
