Arylamine N -acetyltransferases (NATs) catalyse the acetylation from acetyl-CoA of arylamines and hydrazines. There are two human isoenzymes which show polymorphism, and both enzymes are involved in the activation and detoxification of environmental carcinogens and teratogens.
