BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Apolipoprotein E epsilon4 genotype (ApoE4) has been associated with increased risk for cardiovascular disease morbidity or mortality. This appears to be mediated by an ApoE4-related increase in cardiovascular atherosclerosis.
