<h4>Summary</h4> The role of stromal fibroblasts in chronic inflammation is unfolding. In rheumatoid arthritis (RA), leukocyte-derived cytokines tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and IL-17A work together, activating fibroblasts to become a dominant source of the hallmark cytokine IL-6.
