Transglutaminases (TGases) are a class of enzyme widely spread in nature, and observed in plants, microorganisms, vertebrates and invertebrates. This enzyme catalyzes post-translational protein modification, by acyl transfer reactions, deamidation and crosslinking (polymerisation).
