<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> The nuclear envelope, a defining feature of eukaryotic cells, restricts DNA-dependent processes including gene transcription to the nucleus. The nuclear lamina is an integral component of the animal nuclear envelope, composed of polymers of nuclear lamin proteins 1,2 .
