<title>Abstract</title> <p><bold>Background</bold>The C580Y mutation in <italic>Plasmodium falciparum</italic> <italic>kelch13</italic> (<italic>pfk13</italic>) is the most commonly observed variant in artemisinin-resistant isolates in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
