<title>Abstract</title> <p>Background. Acute lung injury (ALI), ARDS and COVID-19 usually involve a “cytokine storm”. Insulin-like growth factor receptor 1 (IGF1R) maintains lung homeostasis and is implicated in these pulmonary inflammatory diseases.
