<h4>ABSTRACT</h4> Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease characterized by the destruction of insulin producing pancreatic β-cells. Macrophages infiltrate islets early in T1D pathogenesis, preceding the influx of T- and B-lymphocytes.
