<title>Abstract</title> <p>BACKGROUNDDuring inflammatory demyelination TNF receptor 1 (TNFR1) mediates detrimental proinflammatory effects of soluble TNF, whereas TNFR2 mediates beneficial effects of transmembrane TNF through oligodendrocytes, microglia, and possibly other cell types.
