The amiloride-sensitive epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) is a heteromultimer of three homologous subunits (alpha-, beta-, and gamma-subunits). To study the role of the beta-subunit in vivo, we analyzed mice in which the betaENaC gene locus was disrupted.
