Graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) can be a major complication of allogeneic bone marrow transplantation even in recipients of HLA genotype-identical transplants. Disparities in minor histocompatibility antigens (mHags) between donor and recipient are a potential risk for the development of GvHD.
