Spontaneous mutagenesis in O6-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase-proficient and -deficient (ada ogt mutants) Escherichia coli was studied in two ways: in bacteria growing in nonselective liquid medium and in bacteria resting on selective agar plates.
