Susceptibility to lung cancer has been shown to be modulated by host specific factors. Inheritance of different polymorphic cytochrome P450s (CYPs) and the glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) which affect metabolism of environmental toxicants may play a key role in individual susceptibility.
