Human marrow-derived mesenchymal progenitor cells (hMPCs), which have the capacity for osteogenic and marrow stromal differentiation, were transduced with the myeloproliferative sarcoma virus (MPSV)-based retrovirus, vM5LacZ, that contains the LacZ and neo genes.
