Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a B-cell tumor involving small lymphocytes that generally express the CD5 antigen and low levels of surface Ig. Within this definition, there is heterogeneity among cases in cell morphology, karyotypic abnormalities, and clinical course.
