A panel of seven monoclonal antibodies (MAb) was used to characterize a virulence-associated marker on bluetongue virus serotype 17 (BLU-17). These MAbs poorly neutralize virulent BLU-17 isolates, but effectively neutralize avirulent isolates (2).
