We investigated the effects of a polymorphic PvuII site in the gene for lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) on serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and apolipoprotein A-I (apo A-I) concentrations in a population of 750 pedigreed baboons.
