DNA of minute specimens taken from formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue was used as a template for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to examine whether the c-Ki-ras gene is activated in atypical bronchioloalveolar cell hyperplasia (ABH) of human lung.
