To understand the mechanism(s) regulating gap junctional communication, we isolated gap junctional intercellular communication-deficient (GJIC-) mutant clones of a rat liver epithelial cell line, WB F-344, which is hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase deficient (HGPRT-).
