Autologous hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell (HSC)-gene therapy (GT) represents a promising therapeutic option for progranulin (PGRN)-related neurodegenerative diseases due to mutations in the PGRN encoding gene (GRN), such as frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis 11 (CLN11).
