Lipooligosaccharides (LOSs) are polar glycolipids found in the cell envelope of many pathogenic mycobacteria. Here, we show that LOS transport in Mycobacterium marinum requires mmpL12, a member of the resistance-nodulation-division family of membrane proteins.
