Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are genetic risk factors for type 2 diabetes (T2D). SNPs of the cryptochrome circadian regulator 2 (CRY2), hepatocyte nuclear factor 1α, prospero homeobox 1 and glucose‑6‑phosphatase catalytic subunit (G6PC2) genes are associated with T2D.
