Chymotrypsin C (CTRC) is a digestive serine protease produced by the pancreas that regulates intrapancreatic trypsin activity and provides a defensive mechanism against chronic pancreatitis (CP). CTRC exerts its protective effect by promoting degradation of trypsinogen, the precursor to trypsin.
