The liver plays a pivotal role in mammalian aging. However, the mechanisms underlying liver aging remain unclear. Cisd2 is a pro-longevity gene in mice. Cisd2 mediates lifespan and healthspan via regulation of calcium homeostasis and mitochondrial functioning.
