Peroxidasin (PXDN) is a unique peroxidase containing extracellular matrix motifs and stabilizes collagen IV networks by forming sulfilimine crosslinks. PXDN gene knockout in Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and Drosophila results in the demise at the embryonic and larval stages.
