Essential thrombocythemia (ET) and polycythemia vera (PV) are myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) with an increased risk of arterial and venous thrombosis. Aspirin is recommended to reduce this risk, but resistance to antiplatelet therapy seems to hamper its efficacy in some patients.
