Achilles tendon pathology (ATP) is a degenerative condition which exhibits excessive tenocyte apoptosis. Tumour necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR1), caspase-3 (CASP3) and caspase-8 (CASP8) are important regulators of apoptosis.
