Trimethylguanosine synthase from Giardia lamblia (GlaTgs2) naturally catalyzes methyl transfer from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (AdoMet) to the exocyclic N(2) atom of the 5'-cap--a hallmark of eukaryotic mRNAs.
