Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration of exocrine glands. Soluble Fas receptor (sFas) has been suggested as a Fas-mediated apoptosis blocker that could impair clonal deletion in infiltrated autoreactive cells.
