Alzheimer's disease (AD) leads to generation of β-amyloid (Aβ) in the brain. Alzheimer's disease model PS/APP mice show a markedly accelerated accumulation of Aβ, which may lead to apoptosis induction e.g. in cells expressing wild-type p53.
