Sodium-coupled, high-affinity choline transporters (CHTs) are inhibited by 3-morpholinosydnonimine (SIN-1) [peroxynitrite (ONOO⁻) donor]; ONOO⁻ can be produced from nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species during neurodegeneration.
