Polynucleotide phosphorylase (PNPase), a multifunctional protein, is a 3'→5' exoribonuclease or exoDNase in the presence of inorganic phosphate (P(i)), and extends a 3'-OH of RNA or ssDNA in the presence of ADP or dADP.
