Cyanovirin-N (CVN) is an 11 kDa pseudosymmetric cyanobacterial lectin that has been shown to inhibit infection by the human immunodeficiency virus by binding to high-mannose oligosaccharides on the surface of the viral envelope glycoprotein gp120.
