We describe examples of wA gene inactivation (resulting in white conidiospores) obtained during transformation of Aspergillus nidulans. One wA- transformant was obtained by transformation with a prn+ plasmid of a strain with green conidia (wA+) which was unable to catabolize L-proline (prn-).
